Magic Wand Tool

Bildigo developed a special tool for architectural projects and architects in general to ease their work by using the Magic Wand functionality to select specific areas or surfaces from the architectural design quickly to be filled with colors, textures, or custom images.

Steps to Use the Magic Wand Tool

1. Select the Magic Wand Tool:

You can find the Magic Wand tool in the main menu by selecting the second icon impersonating a magic wand stick or by using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + M.

2. Activate Magic Wand Selection:

After you import your design as an image, the Magic Wand will be active only over the images. By clicking on the magic wand icon, you can select one specific surface that contains one specific color. The selection is delimited by other colors or black margins.

3. Add Active Magic Wand Selection:

Click on the magic wand icon with a plus symbol to select multiple specific surfaces that contain one specific color. The selection is delimited by other colors or black margins.

4. Delete Active Magic Wand Selection:

Click on the magic wand icon with a minus symbol and then click on the surfaces that were previously selected. This allows you to deselect or remove one or multiple selections.

5. Clear All Selections:

Click on the clear icon to remove all active Magic Wand selections.

6. Adjust Threshold:

The threshold allows you to select by the RGBA tolerance of the design image. A minimum threshold value selects less surface area, while a maximum threshold value selects more surface area from the color where the selection is applied.

Practical Tips

  • Ensure that you select areas accurately to get precise selections.
  • Use the threshold adjustment to fine-tune your selections based on color tolerance.

Once you select your preferred areas from the design, you can fill the selections with colors or images to highlight or make your architectural design more appealing.
